The Most Exciting KVCD/KDVD News?

I visit kvcd.net and I see that a lot of new software packages have been added as conversation topics to the forum. Offer me your opinions as to what has been the most exciting development over the past 4 months or so that I should conduct research on.

Any certain piece of software? Anything special in the way of script optimization?

Thanks friends.

The most important things are the araising of encoders based on the libavcodec librairy.
Mencoder was very promising but too buggy so actualyl the discussion on the encoder are locked to the GUI that allow to use (and test) mencoder) : Packshot and MencoderME. But Vmesquita also developped an other encoder using this librairy called FreeEnc and the section of the forum is quite active currently.

Else you have Diko, to encode automatically Divx (or now DVD also) to KVCD. See also the section of the forum.

It looks like ToK and acp are dead. I guess development on those projects stopped?

Exactly. That's what "dead" means :-)

Exactly. But then, now we have DIKO (Free version and Commercial version), FreeEnc (free), YMPEG (Commercial), FFMPEGx (shareware), mencoder(free), ffmpeg(free), all supporting KVCD "Notch" matrix natively ;)
