KVCD: Horizontial Line Outlines?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has encountered horizontial lines outlining any moving object(sort of like a drag effect). I get these when I use the KVCDx2 and KVCDx3 templates but not in KVCD. The basic procedure I use is to rip with smartrip 2.41, dvd2avi 1.76 with force film on, and kvcd templates in tmpgenc 2.54. I have successfully encoded films like Imax nature shows without a problem, but with anything else(high action or not) I get those outlines. Any help is appreciated.

I think you are trying to encode an interlaced movie as MPEG1.
MPEG1 do not support interlaced movies. You'll have to deinterlace it.
These horizontal lines outlining a moving object are called "comb effect".
Search this forum for "deinterlace" and you will find a lot of information.

Thanks. I'll try it
