Undersized File in Tmpgenc Xpress
Hi Men,
I have made the first kvcd in Tmpgenc Xpress and I am with the Surprise that has little MB (340MB). I have increased the maximum (2000) and the minimum (700) and the quality (55). the size has increased to (530MB). So i decided to do it with tmpgenc 2.52 in order to compare. The surprise was that the size was (721MB). here are the configurations in tmpgenc xpress and in the tmpgenc 2.52 were the same http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif |
Can you post also what is in the "GOP Structure" tab ?

Hi Dialhot,
Here are the other tabs http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif |
I don't see any settings that can explain such a difference.

Thanks Dialhot.
I have not seen anything either |

Perhaps CQ=55 in Xpress gives just crap ! We already experienced that the optimal CQ to encode a given movie is different when you change the tlogenc version, even with the same settings and the same script. |
I have a question
The rate control mode : VBR (Constant Quality) in Tmpgenc Xpress is the same that Automatic (CQ_VBR) in Tmpgenc 2.51? Thanks I will try with the quality 35, the maximum 1800, the minimum 300 and other script in tmpgenc xpress. |
Hi,
When I played with tmpgenc 3.0, I 'discovered' that the CQ value was very different, and higher in the new version than in hte good old version. I don't know if it compress more, but you have to change your references with the new version, and as you can't use automatic predictors, it's complicated. More than compressing more, I think that it compress better. Salu2 Fabrice |
