getting rid of a watermark in AVI file?

I have a Avi file that has a counter running in the upper right hand corner and this is real distracting, I'm looking for a program that I can use to get rid of or cover this problem up, like getting rid of a watermark etc. I remember seeing a freeware program for use in this situation sometime ago and I can't remember the title of it.......So if anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it......Thanks in Advance....

Use Virtualdubs logoaway or delogo filter, this lets you get rid of that counter.
Also such anti-logo filters are available for avisynth.

Thanks.....incredible

I looked at Virtualdub and the only internal filter that I seen is to add a logo......is there a external filter that you can add????
