KVCD: First attempt, first success!

HI all, after using the idiots guide to creating a kvcd from an avi file, to my amazement it worked great, and from reading some of the posts i count myself lucky.
I split the file and encoded it and then muxed it in tmpgen and a 1hr 30min film is now on a cdr and playing in my stand alone.
I used the 352 x 240 template and created a vcd version of the film....
although the quality is more than adequate, I did lose 25% of the quality during the process i would like to create an svcd, which presumably will be a higher quality playback, could anyone tell me what i need to do different to acheive this.
I presume i will need a new template for starters....any help would be appreciated as i am completely new at this.
PS i have read how the best kvcd's are produced using scripts? what does this mean and how do they work.
cheers

Actually, it is more when that does not work that you are unlucky.
People with success rarely post a message and that give the bad idea that anyone have problems.

First you have to test the compatibility of your player to see what it can handle. Then I guess that you won't have a lot of things to change to what you already did, but you will have to learn about size prediction (see CQmatic forum).

This is an other thing you should learn then.

Because even if google return to you the link towards a page of the forum when youdo a research, when you click on that link, you can't read the page because YOU aren't a member of the forum.
Then you have to register to the forum, and this time you will have access to the content.

I face this situation very often when I use google or other search engine. But to be honnest, I don't know how this is done by the site administrators.

You're right, I lost the track of the discussion :-)

Anyone who wants to search must register.
Then they can come and "google" all they want "inside" the forum
