KVCD: Monsters, Inc. success!
With the KVCD Plus Template 352x240 (NTSC)
Source: DVD, frameserve with DVD2AVI 1.77.3 Audio (AC3) converted to WAV with AC3Tool (a GUI for Azid, lame and vstrip) Encoded with TMPGEnc 2.58 Maximum bitrate: 1550 Minimum bitrate: 500 Audio at 44100Hz, 160kbits in Stereo! At the end (after 5 hours): 699MB, PERFECT!!! And on a 650MB CD-R! :) :) I create an image of the VCD with all the 33 chapters with VCDEasy! Very Good Result At The End!!! |
little tip for future (incase you don't know) with dvd2avi sound.
use the following settings for dvd2avi to produce wav file from dvd2avi set the following settings; Audio: Format - auto select Dolby Digital - Encode ticked Dolby Digital --> Dynamic Range Contorl - normal ticked MPEG Audio - Demux All Tracks ticked 48 -> 44.1 khz - off ticked Option: Process Priority - Low with these settings set I find it produces the sound in one wav file quite fast. for example Lord Of The Rings is a 2hr 51mins film and it took dvd2avi with those settings about 10mins which is quite fast for the length of film. Normally, i use Smart Ripper to extract the VOB and AC3, after that, i convert it to WAV with another program (i think you already know that with my first post :P )
But thanks for the tips, i will try this with my next DVD (recently, i buy the Lord of the Rings DVD and i am going to make a copy of this one!)... And about my Monsters, Inc. VCD, the sound is a little, very little bit crappy... :? :( |
download this prog. All you do is unzip this dos based prog to wherever, drag the wav file over the exe file and the prog will normalize the volume it can enhance the volume of the wave file.

Here is what I did:
Monsters INc DVD2DVI 186: Force Film, DD demux HeadAc3he: MP2 224kbps, Dual channel, 48k FitCD: SVCD, 1-scan blocks KVCDx3 544x480 MPEG-2 CQ-12, Max:2300. 1-CD. Noice in motion which is OK for me. but the resolution is quite good. I love full quality audio then best possible resolution. I could not bare VCD resolution which looks much lower than VHS for me in 27" standard TV. Same goes with Print of Egypt, Shrek etc. I could not push KVCDx3 above CQ 12 as it starts eating space and Never used it above CQ 18 |
