VirtualDub: Use Filters in Vdub or TMPGEnc?
I capture mainly from VHS Pal sources using virtualdub and convert to kvcd using TMPGEnc. I was wondering do most people here use the filters in virtualdub (specifically noise reduction and de-interlace) or do you use the filters provided by TMPGEnc instead.

Hi Cruiser,
Try some of the AviSynth filters. Like Convolution3D, TemporalSmoother, etc. You can use them without the need to use Vdub. -kwag |
Thanks for the quick reply.
Does AviSynth work with mjpeg avi captures as I cant seem to get it to recognise the video source? |
8O Good question. That I don't know, because I don't have any MJPeg codecs installed, or any MJPeg sources. Maybe someone else can answer this one :?:

It works.
Capture in YUY not RGB (else you may need to convert in the script). Search a AVISynth pugin called "mjpegcorrector" it is supposed to improve color fidelity. |
