Convert 23.976/29.97 video to 25 ?

can anyone please point me towards a straight-forward guide that teaches me how to convert ntsc video to pal as i get jerky playback with 23.976 movies therefore i want to convert them to 25fps.

Use DIKO software. You can find it in DIKO thread at main page.

so converting video in virtualdub and audio in besweet and then joining them in tmpgenc will not work? (23.976>25)

No.
DIKO does all the work for you.
There are other ways (using tmpgenc) but not so easy.
As I see, you are not an experienced user, then you need to start with an easy way. Later, when you understand advanced concepts, specially avisynth scripting, prediction, etc., can begin to do that conversion with avisynth and tmpgenc.

yes, that will work (for 23.976 fps movies)

just set frame rate to 25 in virtualdub (video --> frame rate) and save with Direct stream copy. then use that as source for TMPGEnc. i assume you know how to use besweet (with GUI)

it wont hurt to just give it a go :)
