appending avi segment problem

I have a two part capture and I wanted to append second part to the first and frameserve to tmpgenc to encode. but vdub says the sample rate for audio is different in second part does anyone know a way to get round this so I can do a encode to mpg without doin it in two parts and instead make tmpgenc think the two avi files are one file?

You should verify that the two files have EXACTLY the same parameters with Gspot (or avicodec). Because if Vdub says they are not, generally they are not.

If the video sections are the same dimensions etc but the audio is out, then use VirtualDub to append both files without audio (No Audio option in Audio dropdown). This should give a large silent AVI file.

Save the wav of each audio file from the original AVI's.

Use your preferred audio convertor to join both audio files with the same parameters.

Mux this new audio with the silent video file.

ok the video part I find easy I use headac3he how do I join parts usin that?

EDIT: tried the append with no audio and still getting the audio problem

I don't use Headac3he, so I dunno.

If you appended with NO AUDIO, how can you possibly get audio problems :?:

when I loaded the files it still checked the audio sample rates even when I had no audio selected in the audio menu

You are doing something wrong.

The files that you should be loading up to Virtualdub are the 2 AVI's that you saved WITHOUT SOUND. Therefore there is NO AUDIO for it to check.

The only thing I can think that you are doing, is loading up the original AVI's.

Save 2 AVI's with NO SOUND and 2 WAVS
Append the 2 SILENT AVI's.
Join the 2 WAVS.
REMUX the resultant joined SILENT AVI with the joined WAVs.

Open the first one, save it without any audio. Do the same with the second. Then reopen the first one (wiht no audio) and add the second (with no audio).

But : DID YOU CHECK THAT THE AUDIO ARE THE SAME OR NOT ?
Because you won't be abble to do anything if they are not ! You will have to align the params of the audio sooner or later !

my bad I thought you were meanin to load into vdub with no audio selected and it should work lol
