Can't Open Video Part

Hello. I have only asked a question once before and so I am still a newbie. I have a video file that I am trying to encode in TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress but I keep recieving the error "Can't open video part, only the audio part can be opened" when I try to add the file to the encoding list. Here are the specs as seen in GSpot. Let me know if you need any more information from me. Thanks!

Video Codec
4CC: xvid
Name: XviD
(2 compatible codecs installed)
Runtime: 01:34:41 (136,216 fr)
x:y: 624x336 (1.86:1) [=13:7]
Bitrate: 894 kb/s
FPS: 23.976
Qf: 0.178 bits/pixel

Audio Codec
Name: 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3
(2 compatible codecs installed)
Bitrate: 144 kb/s (72/ch, stereo) VBR LAME3.87
Fs: 48000 Hz

Stream Type and A/V Interleave
Type: OpenDML AVI
IMRR: 1.00
I/L: 1 vid frame (42 ms), p=480 Split: No

Rendering
Video Path: (S) --> AVI Splitter --> XviD MPEG-4 Video Decoder --> (R)
Audio Path: (S) --> AVI Splitter --> Moonlight Odio Dekoda --> (R)
(successful)

Thanks in advance!

I guess your Xvid need to be processed with Directshow part of the Xvid decoder (new features of the codec aren't decoded by the VFW part of the decoder, and this is the one that Tmpgenc uses by default).

I don't know for 3.0 but in 2.5 you had a setting to change in environnemental settings, VFAPI tab (uncheck support for avi, check the onbe for Direct show source).

Thanks a bunch for your assistance Dialhot. I had trouble finding those settings in 3.0 so I did some searches. For anyone with a similar problem to me:

Locate the MPEG-2 Video VFAPI Plug-in on the web and download it. Unpack and install. Then, open 3.0 and click on Options and go to preferances and under the Input Plug-In Setting tab, uncheck "avi file reader" in the first box and check "Direct Show File Reader" in the second box. Then, you're good to go!

Thanks again, Dialhot!
