Hi Psycho Reptile,

Get a copy of Divx 5.2 here http://www.divx.com
Install this codec and use the Divx "Playa" to
view you Xvid. :)

Thanx for the reply black prince 8O .My problem is not that I can't view the avi's, I watch them using BSPlayer - no problem, but that TMPGEnc seems to be unable to open and encode the avi to an mpeg. When I start the project preview, I get anerror message, but the preview continues...when I press 'start, I get the error same message again and TMPGEnc doesn't encode

Hi Psycho Reptile,

Try using VirtualDub and check "File"-->"File Information" to see
what the Video and Audio stats tell you. It could be an audio format
that Tmpgenc doesn't like. Especially if it says UnKnown. :)

remember that TMPEgenc donīt like VBR sound try to encode only the video to see what happens
or frameserve form Vdub_mp3 to tmpeg
