KVCD: my success story!

Hello,

First post here, and I would just like to say that I have had much success due to this forum. I had a made a few kvcds by using the Tmpgenc templates and just using the d2v file created with dvd2avi. I was pretty happy with the results, and although they didn't look that great on my PC, I was happy with the results when viewed on my standalone player. After reading this forum I decided to try using avisynth for frameserving. I was more than impressed with the results, even when viewed on my PC. The encoding time is much faster also. I found answers to all my problems here. Heck, the most difficult part for me was getting tmpgenc set up correctly to read avs files. I felt like pulling my hair out! I found all the answers I needed here, and now I have some good scripts and a pretty good grasp on making simple backups of my dvds. Sorry for the rant, but I just wanted to share my success story. Thanks again!

That's the same way that I started doing this as well. My advice to get even better, is to start learning how to use AviSynth 2.5, and scripting. You won't believe how good your encodes will start to look.

Check out the AviSynth thread, and the KVCD or KDVD presets.
