Cqmatic problem with tmpgenc
Hello to all i have a little problem its been a while since i havent done this..
i am trying to encode a 196 minute dvd PAL format into a 2 cd kvcd. I got a avg birate in calcu matic of 969.4 i am using the KVCDx2-CQ-704x576-_PAL_-PLUS.mcf templet in tmpgenc on the bottom i see the CQ value is set to 60 in the settings>rate control mode i set the max birate to 1800 and the average birate 567.72 i set the source aspect ratio to 4:3 625 line (PAL) my avs script goes as follows: Code:
Code:
CQMatic Version 1.4.04 |
Did you reset AND unselect source range ?
If yes, open the tpr and look for the name of your movie (I'm quite sure is it not "movie"). Check if there is no "+" in the line (tmpgnec split lines too long and put a "+" between the two) Check also if there is no strange character (accents for instance are coded in octal code). |
hmm okay this is what i got
when i double click on the unchecked source range it gives me this error "list index is out of range(0)" and i click okay and in the source range it only shows me a part of the movie instead of the whole thing... and no nothing strange in the project file Video.SourceFileName = 'C:\Documents and Settings\FloCk\Desktop\movie.avs' |

This is what we call "reset" source range. And do not forget to uncheck again the sourge range once you go out this screen (because entering into it chek the box automatically). WAIT A MINUTE:!: Your script do not have any borders line AND generates a picture that is definitely NOT 704x576. That means that you let TMPGENC to do the resizing. NEVER do that :!: Where the hell did you find the values for the resize line ? |

Don't you see either that on the right part of the screen you can select your destination resolution ? Select 704x576 here ! NEVER load the template after the source. ALWAYS do the opposite ! |
k i changed couple of things in my script watch

hello everyone just wanna say that i chanegd the dir to something simple like d:\movie.avs ect...and it worked fine only one thing though

sorry kwag i was mistaken it does show cq on bottom although i have reached a problem...
the cq is at 50 and its still predicting its on the 1 of 7 cycle 2 and its on 50 my avg birate is 969.4 it should be so low...i'm aiming for a 2 cd kvcd check my first post for specifics..i want to know why cq is low ? thx |

What are you getting on the line: Process time: x.xx minutes in CQMatic's log :?: How many minutes per prediction :?: I just want to make sure it's actually predicting, and it's not a problem with the .tpr project. -kwag |
hehe i'm sure its predicting and i'm just want to make sure if its normal for it to be low..
Phase 3 of 7 cycle 1 Encoder started .. time: 5.88 minutes enc ended file size difference: 0.959134 low fence: 2.00000 high fence: 53.534 last cq: 53.53 current cq: 51.35 other times are from 5 to 6 minutes around there :) hope this helps |
Well, after reading your first post again, I see you're trying to fit ~96 minutes on each cd at a resolution of 704x576.
I don't know what kind of movie you are encoding, but it seems that if CQMatic has to drop CQ down to the fifties, your movie is either a high action movie, or your source is not very clean. That's why you are getting a low CQ value. -kwag |

So I assume oxycotton420 has already bought the DVD, which has been available for almost a month. -kwag |
yes kwag i did buy the movie sorry for posting names i hate doing that...it is an action movie so thats probably the reason and its too long :)
|
I suggest you encode it at 352x576 (Half D-1 PAL resolution).
That will give you a very high CQ for 2 CDs :) -kwag |

Illegal Stream error, Tmpgenc not using the CQ from CQMatic
Well I followed the advice and finally got CQMatic to finish the preparing phases and start tmpgenc, but when Tmpgenc starts I get the error "Illegal Stream" error. When I click OK on the tmpgenc error, instead of crashing, tmpgenc starts encoding the source normally with the standard template, instead of using the final CQ value that CQMatic just calculated. Has anyone else gotten this "illegal stream" error? Does CQMatic start Tmpgenc with the CQ values it just calculated? or is the user supposed to type in the CQ before encoding and start tmpgenc manually? How long does CQ usually take to calculate CQ, because it seems to calculate it a bit too fast to be right, takes about 1 minute at most for me.

Post your CQMatic log :!:

No double post please !

Hello i did not want to open a new post as this question was answered but i have a question about something related to low CQ problems.
I am Backing up FInding Nemo ( as you know this movie is animated ) THe source is a DVD NTSC and it is 81 Minutes and 15 seconds. I am using the KVCDx2-CQ-704x480-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf templet now on the templet page it says that this resolution can hold up to 90 minutes. My traget is a 1 cd. I got this avg 1199.5 bitrate and with tmpgenc i have the following settings: For source aspect Ratio = 4.3 525 Line (NTSC, 704x480) Field Order = Bottom Field first (Field B) Minimum Bitrate = 64 because my DVD supports I keep getting low CQ values 56.6161727905273 this is my script: Code:
LoadPlugin("D:\KVCD\avisynth plugins\MPEG2Dec3.dll") |

So go for half D-1 (352x480) -kwag |
