Is there a easier way to do this burn kvcd to dvd-r
 

HI all i'n new to the boards and with allot of reading I found a way to convert the kvcd to burn to dvd to play in my dvd player. because on cd the kvcd will not play not sure why its a sony dvp-s5300. I found this process to work but it takes forever to just do one movie:(

1. I take the cue/bin kvcd and open up vcdgear and select to convert the bin to mpeg format. this only takes like 2 min.

2. second i have to convert the mpeg format now to dvd.m2v which i do in cususoft MPEG/avi to vcd,dvd,svcd,mpeg1and2 program. this seems to take a long time sometimes 6 hours for one movie for video, then about 15 min for audio the 10 min for it to put the audio and vid together, then to finalize another hour about:(

3. then i use cucusoft mpeg to dvd burner to burm the file to dvd. which don't take to long:)

so thats it weeeee. as you can see this to me seems like allot to burn one kvcd to a dvd. is there a faster program or way to do this thanks:)

First encoding a video always take time counted in hours. Whatever the CPU you have. And 6 hours is not so big when people need sometimes twice this time.

Second reencoding a KVCD is REALLY something that you should not do.§ It does not worth the cost nor the effort. .The result is nothing but ugly.

Starting from that, you do not tell the spec of your sources. If there are MPEG1 with reso of 352*240(288), then you don't have to convert them ! The DVD spec includes such format. All you need to do in such case is to convert the AUDIO to resample it to 48Khz if it is 44.1.

All you need is to change your tool to author (use DVDLabPro) if yours does not support MPEG1.

If your sources are other thing then you should try to put them on a DVDV either ! (still with an audio resampled to 48khz). Even if KVCD resolution are not in DVD spec, my pioneer can read them all, even on a DVD.

And finally if you can't use your source without reencoding them, then just forget the idea !

can i do this with dvdlabs pro if yes is it easy lol:)

also i've tried dvd-lab pro once opened it up selected the mpeg file imported it to project it compiled ok. but when i select to burn t warns me that mpeg1 files are not meant to be burnt to dvd it is better to use mpeg2 files i skipped it and burned the dvd but i messed up somehow cause it don't work:([/quote]

To do your audio de-mux your video. Then reencode your audio (at 48khz)
then open dvd-lab pro. Select your video then your audio then author it :D(I think you'll see this takes much less time)

ok thanks again for the replies but i really can't get it right now:( I did some more reading last night and found that my dvd player should play the kvcd but its not on cd-r :( I don't know why i'm burning them in nero with no problems at all. thanks for the info on this board to let me know how to do that:) my player is the sony S530D but after i burn and insert the cd it will not even detect the cd-r it says no disc detected error ever time i've tried diffrent burn speeds and 2 types od media with no luck:( could this just be a misprint on your dvd list and the player doesn't support kvcd or am i just cursed:(
I did read somewhere last night here that sometimes if you burn with VCDeasy instead of Nero this works and they play but i see that VCDeasy is now pay to use. Is there another program i can try that is free that may help:) or should i just run far away before i pull all my hair out!!!!

There are still old versions of VCDEasy that are free.
The latest free version is 1.1.5.2 which you can find for download on a videohelp forum thread :arrow: VCDEasy v1.1.5.2 free.
The link is from a german magazine site but it works 'cause I just tested it ;-)

thanks for the help guys but my wife showed me up last nite. as no matter i did my dvd player is just poo:( so she told me she could get it to work to watch the movies on the t.v. I told her that the dvd player just wouldn't play them. she said she would be back in a bit she had to run to the store.
when she returned she told me give her a cpl min on the computer and we could watch the movie on the t.v. of course i thought she was just full of crap lol. but sure enough she called me back 5 min later and turned on the t.v. and the movie we wanted to see was there.
she told me she just went bought a s-video cable. ran it form the card to the t.v. started the movie on the computer and set up the n-view to watch it on the t.v. now why didn't i think about that:(
I know you all think this is not the correct way to do such things but hey i save cd-r and dvd and money and i get what i wanted to watch the movies on t.v. :)
