KVCD: What is HC and AutoCQ ?

@Kwag,

Came across HC and AutoCQ on Doom9. What's interesting is the Matrix
can be changed. Here's the link: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...0&pagenumber=6
This might be worth looking into. 8)

Hya :)
You don't even have to change it.
The Notch is already inside HC's code.
No need to patch it as we've done with other encoders.
And now it has a GUI.
As I said on the other thread it's VBR mode is still slow when compared to other encoders CQ mode (tmpg/nuenc).
But it also has a 1-pass Q mode :arrow: not the same as CQ mode and very similar to cce's Q mode.
And then again, nuenc's CQ mode is really Q mode where Peter Cheat is using different Q values for each I/B/P frames and he can use fractional values.
Quality and speed with HC are still a bit under tmpg's CQ but there must be a lot of room for development.
Let's see if Hank can improove it.
Cheers
