TMPGEnc: changes the runtime of movie

A question to the great members of this board I downloaded when will i be loved and hoping to convert it to dvd (mpeg2) but having issues:
The source file is:
Xvid
23.976 NTSC
MP3 Audio
Filesize 700 MB
Runtime: 1 hr 30 mins apprx.
Details picked up from G Spot and file plays fine on p.c but when trying to convert using tmpgenc 2.5 into dvd following problems crop up:
Tmpgenc recognises file etc but changes the runtime of movie to over 238 mins and the output file size becomes 4.3gb at a bitrate of 2000. When the encoding starts it crashes tmpgenc.

I have never had a problem with others and can't understand why this one is giving grief so any help would be appreciated!
