TMPGEnc: Aspect Ratio of a vhs videotape?

im trying to convert some of my vhs tapes to a kvcd and im using the templates that are on your site. But im having a problem with the aspect ratio, i cant figure out what to put it on ive tried a couple different settings and havent gotten it to look right. It doesnt say anything on the back of a vhs box either so im stumped right now and i dont like watching people that are like gumby stretched out and all. Any help would be appreciated thanks, oh and the templates are nice though the videos look pretty good and play on my dvd player but theres just a couple seconds of blackness when the video starts.

Hi Snake345:

What are you using to capture your VHS tapes?
And are you capturing at least at 352x480?

kwag, i am using the composite video input on my capture card and im capturing at 352x480, i messed around a little in TMPGenc and changed the image positioning method to fit screen and that fixed it but im not sure if that will cause bad results or what.

Change your input aspect in TMPEG to Center custom size 352x352.
And preview your mpeg in WinDVD or PowerDVD.

See if that fixes it.
