KVCD has no audio?

every avi i encode with tmpgenc results in no sound whatsoever. i have tried everything, muxing, remuxing, nemo codec pack, installing headache, besweet, bbmpeg, ect, ect. im running win2k proffesional. i dont understand what is going on. the avi's play fine before encoding, but when i encode as an mpg .they have no audio, or they start encoding for a 5 hour movie instead of 1. thats another thing thats odd.

im thinking there is a wierd audio codec on my machine i might have installed with the nemo codec pack, or some other codec bundle. if anyone knows what audio codec is a good standard, please let me know. im tired of sifting through endless forums that lead nowhere.

all i want is a VCD with sound! >=D

Hey giant.robot,

Use VirtualDub and input your avi. Go to "FILE" -->"File Information".
Look at the section "Audio Stream"-->"Compression". If you see
*Unknown, it could be ac3 or ogg. If mpeg-layer III you can extract
it from the avi and convert it to mp2. :)

all the movies are fraunhofer ISS mpeg layer 3, a few are divx, and when i use virtual dub to open the video, it rewrites the header one out of 2 times on my movies so the video is completely out of sync. the audio converts to a mp2 file as long as the clip, but with no sound.
