KVCD Encoder / SAMPEG-2
I've found some references to this (apparently it's good quality):
http://rachmaninoff.informatik.uni-mannheim.de/sampeg/ But I can't open the site :( This is the most recent I've found at wayback machine http://web.archive.org/web/200312031...eim.de/sampeg/ The good thing is it's open source, and there are a couple of articles explaining the algorithms. |
Hi GFR,
I had seen those sources, but the quality was pretty bad. Lately, I have been looking at the "Berkeley Encoder" sources. http://bmrc.berkeley.edu/frame/resea...eg_encode.html This code framework would an ideal stepstone to build an encoder, specially because of the license it carries. But still, there's no way around the MPEG-2 patent for any encoder implementation, and that's what worries me. -kwag |
