Mplayer-1.0-pre7 with dvd muxer.

Hello,

Slightly off-topic maybe but mplayer still uses libavcodec (ffmpeg) so this is the only place for now.
The Mplayer team released pre7 some time agoo with a lot off changes but one off the most nice ones is an rewriten vcd/svcd/xvcd/dvd muxer.
I started an mencoder only based script for kvcd4nix a long time agoo (without anouncing) and with the coming off this new mplayer release I've made some modifications and was wondering or mencoder is back "in buisnis".
Please use it wisely.
Mplayer:
http://www.mplayerhq.hu
Bash script:
http://www.japie.deserver.nl/ftp/KVCD

This is development material and there's no garanty it will produce something usefull

On the other hand, the last 117 movies I encoded where only with this script, and didn't had complaints from players.
Main issue is that large resolutions on small sizes will make libavcodec shocke, 352x240(288) kvcd and kdvd (seem) to work fine, but I need some feedback before merging in kvcd4nix.

Hi Japie :),
I'm also not quite sure how Karl feels about MPlayer and MEncoder these days .
But this sure is the only part of the forum slightly related to MEncoder and since you're only posting news...
And since you don't have much of a choice when it comes to Linux/BSD...
BTW the worst bug in MEncoder is not in the muxing engine.
In fact it's in the rate control mechanisms.
But it sure is nice to see them working on mpeg1 and mpeg2 issues ;-)
Cheers

ratecontrol.c has had some changes this year which is pretty good because its development was stalled for ten months during 2004. full changelog

Nice news Latexxx :)
But I don't see anything about the overflows/underflows .
Have you checked encoded clips for missing frames?
Cheers
