On real encodes I'm getting around 1% or even less. But I don't know if I have already emphasized that I am running for a 2 movies in one DVD-5. That means you work with ~4.000.000KB available for video whereas I work with ~1.900.000KB. There can be the reason why you get bigger undersize figures than I do . Just as an example, I got one prediction with full encode of "The Matrix I": Ideal Video Size=1.861.038,4KB Encoded Video Size=1.840.011KB This is just slightly over 1.1% ;-). BUT my latest encode with "Back to the Future I" was again near the 1.8% which IMHO is a bad prediction. So this means that the prediction behaviour is far from perfect. Quote:
I just would need HC to give me a break . I gotta tell you: I have been more optimistic than I am at this moment. Maybe there really isn't any way of achieving what we're seeking . Quote:
One of the 1st things I thought: maybe this doesn't work with 1%. So I tried 2,3 and 5%. Results were veeery similar. So I went back to 1% which is faster and gives me the same figures. Anyone else besides the 2 of us working on OPV prediction with HC? Anyone?? Do I hear Karl? Do I hear Andrej? Phil? Cheers |

Could you post more data as cqmaxbitrate used and I will try to duplicate results? |
:(
I'm on a set of 2 new predictions with another 2 movies. I have 6 movies in my HDD in IFO/VOB files ATM. I can see that results vary from movie to movie... All the data from previous encodes and predictions has already been erased :(. But I'm sure I'll get back to "The Matrix I" again and then I'll post the results. Cheers EDIT: I'm working on different approaches on calcs/algorithms. As soon as I find something usefull I'll post my findings. For now, and since the results are so much different from movie to movie I rather not post anything as I really have got nothing ;-). Stand by. |

Differents movies, differents spikes cutted off, differents bits not brought back to the stream, differents final error. |
As I said before, I added "prediction only" button to my tool.
Maybe you can know which is the button, even if I don't say you it. http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2005/06/1.png |

That's what we need here . I'm quiting. Overnight I tried two movies. One undersized by 1.7% and the other oversized by 2.7% - my 1st oversize! I say this is completely...unpredictable! :( As for some movies that I got under less 1%, they're wonderful. But what about all the others that I got really undersized, right? I quit, please let me know if you find anything usefull. Cheers |
