Bitrates: Calcumatic not calculating right?
I've tryed encoding a 90 min movie twice now & @ 60% complete its already at 801 mb (this was supposed to be a 800mb 1 cd encode)
what am i doing wrong? Could it be because of the version of tmpg I'm using? 2.524.63.181?? |
Just like that, right?
I mean, you did a prediction, right? What did you use? Manual calculations? CQMatic? There are just too many reasons why a movie that we intend to fit in a CD80 ends up needing 2 CD80s. One of them is leaving the CQ figure with something like 80, that is, by not predicting. So can you please elaborate a bit more on what you did? Your tmpgenc's version is ok because it's the last one having been released before I gave up on tmpgenc. I used it for many time without any issues. Cheers |
I used calcumatic to get an average bitrate
then created a tmpg project, then replaced tmpgs min bitrate with the avg bitrate givin by calcumatic & left max bitrate at daefault 2500. then ran cqmatic & punched in movie time 90 min 40 sec & deep prediction & pressed full encode execute. OVERSIZED FILE BY ABOUT 500MB |

Did you read that in any guide? You need to let the encoder breath ;-). So, stick with the 300Kbit - or whatever low value your SAP needs - as minimum bitrate. You put the average bitrate figure retrieved from Calcumatic in CQMatic's "Avg:" field. Give it another run with these changes and see if it still oversizes by 00's of MB. Cheers |
hey its my first run at cqmatic & kvcd.
This I read in black princes guide 8) thankx for the info!! :) |
The Untouchable,
My guide is an example for resolution 352X240 ONLY!!! :) It doesn't cover every case. Also, I'm presently looking for a replacement of DVD Decrypter. -BP |
I think I'm going to translate elora's french guide that covers almost all point form the installation and settings of the tools.
(don't ask when, it is very long and I don't have a lot of time) For people reading french : http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13391 |
