encoding time?
Jus wanna know if i should set tmp to slow ='s high quality or normal or fast ='s low quality while using avisynth?
does it make much of a diff? |
High quality gives you the best quality. But if it's too slow then you can use NORMAL. In my tests the quality isn't bad. High quality is only a lillte bit better but normal is so much faster.

Don't use Normal, use "Motion Estimate".

I am finally getting this right :D
This should be my last question, is 704x480 ever recommended as a 1cd encode? I saw kwags mpeg1 sample for tomb raider@that resulution. looks pretty damn good |
Yes, indeed it does look very nice on such resolution, but you only watched it on a PC monitor right?
If you had seen a TV set comparison between 528x480 and a 704x480 you wouldn't notice a very big difference. So stay on lower resolution encodes to keep the CQ (and the encoding speed!) higher. Unless your movies are low motion <=1h30m. There you can move up to 704x480. Or maybe you want to split the movie by 2xCD80 to gain on space. There you could go with 704x480 too. Cheers |

No, I always use High Quality because this gives me the best quality in the last version. I did some tests with the motion estimation. And now I did some tests with the new TMGPEnc version and the best quality was again High Quality and then only a little bit behind but much faster NORMAL and then far away the other Methods.
