Using Main Concept for kdvd encoding
Is there a way to load a template for main concept? I really like the application and it looks like it can be configured in quantim matrix but I am a fool with that sort of thing. Plz tell me if and how to set this program to do kdvd halfD1 and fullD kdvd. TIA :D

Hi phuquehair,
MCE doesn't allow custom matrixes, so you can't use KVCD/KDVD matrix with that encoder. -kwag |
Ok thanx for the fast reply.

Have you tried HC Encoder :?:
Give it a try. You might like it ;) -kwag |

You can! http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....ht=mainconcept And here some templates: http://s40.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1...E2VCCHDDDDZ3C0 In version 1.0.4.1 put your templates in C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\MCMPEGEnc In version 1.0.4.2 folder changed but it can't be hard to find, just save any config as template (search in menu) and then search your pc for *.mef But first save one as MCE has templates with extension mef in it own folder. MCE is a "pain" when you need to predict final size in Q mode, in 2 pass vbr don't gives good results if you don't know it very very well. |

Btw, in the templates that I downloaded I saw that the only difference between the KVCD and KDVD was the VBV buffer and the motion search ranges. Is it normal to use MPEG2 output for both KVCD and KDVD templates since I thought KVCD was MPEG1 (which can still be used in DVD's and you get smaller sizes)???. |
