DVDREasy and Episodic Disk conversions

HI,

As you know, DVDREasy is a movie-only tool.

It would be nice (and I allready receive mails with this kind of request) if DVDREasy could handle Episodic disks (CSI, Space 1999, etc).

I donīt have any Episodic DVD.

Could someone tell me what is the structure of such DVD :
- 1 VOB with 1 PGC for each Episode ?
- 1 VOB with many PGC, and each PGC is an Episode ?

Any info on this kind of DVD Structure is wellcome

Cheers,

DVDREasy

Hi dvdreasy,

I think this is a really good idea and I wish you luck implementing it.

However. I have a few Episodic DVD's and one of them there are 4 episodes on one DVD but only 3 PGC's on that DVD. So I don't know how you would get around this maybe some of the others will be able to help you out with this regard.

Generally the only constant is a PGC per episode. But they can be in different title of the dvd or the same one. That's the same for vobs : there is no rules (one big "1GB splitted" vob for all or a single vob file for each).

I never sawq a disc with 4 ep and 3 PGC and I find this strange as the time can't be reseted in the middle of a PGC. Are you sure Michael it was not a double ep ? (first of last ep of a season ?).

Hi Phil,

Come to think of it I think it was 3 episodes and 4 PGC's, it was long ago now so my memory is a little rusty.

Thanks Guys,

Hum.....
I guess the only way to find out is to parse the IFO of the MENU and see what VOB's or PGC's it calls.
Damm, this could be tricky :!:

I was hopping that would be a pattern and allways have the same rule...

Other approuch could be the user to inform DVDREasy in what VOB's are the Episodes, but this could lead to a lot of confusions.

I must put my hand on a Episodic DVD and see what can be done.

Cheers,

DVDREasy

I own a copy of The Office Series 1 on DVD. I hope these screenshots are both helpful and permissable on this forum.

Thanks,

For the look of it, it seems it has 1 VOB for each episode(total 6 episodes) and another VOB for the Presentation/extras :

EPISODE 1 - VTS_01
EPISODE 2 - VTS_02
EPISODE 3 - VTS_03
EPISODE 4 - VTS_04
EPISODE 5 - VTS_05
EPISODE 6 - VTS_06
PRESENTATION / EXTRAS - VTS_07
MENU - VTS_01_0

I finnaly grabbed a Episodic DVD and it has exactly the same structure as this one. I guess this structure is the most used but, like Dialhot said, there is no rule !

cheers,

DVDREasy

OT on
Sorry to bump in on the conversation.
That's a hell of a digital phone on the top of the table.
That's the Avaya 2050 keyset.
Although it catches it's features from the PBX that you connect it to the modus operandus is always the same.
Operation looks very similar to an ATM machine with 4 keys on the sides of the phone and 4 options along side with the keys.
Using the scroll button you change the on-screen options to a second page and a 3rd page and a 4th...
Unfortunately Avaya is going to announce it's end-of-life.
Just saying this because I install/configure those phones everyday :D.
OT out
Cheers
