Are most VOB files ripped off of DVDs 23.9 fps? Or doesn't it matter? I ripped a file and I thought the VOB was 29.9 fps, but using DVD2AVI and KVCD I think I made a pretty good 23.9 fps video.

Hi dynokeith,

You are correct. Most DVD's are 23.976. That's why you use "Force FILM" on DVD2AVI to skip the rff flags. If you don't, then you are sending 29.97fps interlaced material to your encoder.

:?: That's weird. I just checked the VOBs from 8 different movies I'm working on and every one was 29.97fps. They're all NTSC (AZ, USA). I'm using BitRate Viewer made by TECO.

Hi melmo,

Bit rate viewer will tell you that they are 29.97, because it's seeing the rff flags. Internally, it's 24fps.
