best KVCD Template for lowest File Size? for 120m?
I used the acp program to rip a dvd, and it came out as 720 mb, i used the default settings that was already there on that program!
My question is. I dont really care for great video quality, or sound quality, Just Viewable and hearable. and if you can get me a kvcd template or tell me the kvcd settings for acp to use, to get the lowest file size mpg possible, with viewable video and hearable sound. for all 100-120 minute dvd's! NTSC , please tell me |
You're going to have to use TMPEG and the manual process, if you really want optimized low bitrate and good quality.
Take a look here: http://www.kvcd.net/dvd-models.html and get the 352X240 LBR template. That will give you ~180 minutes on a CD with very good watcheable quality. However, you will still need to use CQMatic to calculate the correct encoding settings. Read about CQMatic in the forum. It superceeded ACP and ToK. -kwag |
yea but mp4 formats have like 320 mb for a full dvd!, thats crazy., i want something like that 300-400 MB for full movie

I will assume that with mp4 container you are talking about MPEG-4 H.264 (also known as AVC)
You cannot compare a MPEG-4 H.264 with a MPEG-1 ! MPEG-4 H.264 compress A LOT more!! And no, you can not use .mp4 on VCDs. Besides, we are talking about low resolutions. Lets say 352x288. If you use MPEG-4 H.264 for that resolution you can still go below 280 MB! So, there is no other way... If you want it smaller than that, try the ULBR template. You will get smaller sizes. |
Ok. I am giving you a full example. It is for an AVI file. But of course it applies to d2v source too.
you must install AviSynth -> http://www.avisynth.org grab PARANOIA here -> http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=93 01- Goto http://www.kvcd.net/dvd-models.html and download the PAL 352x288 ULBR template: save it to: to C:\Program Files\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc Plus 2.5\Template http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif 02- This is our AVI test: http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif 03- Go on PARANOIA and press F2: http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif 04- Select the video file: http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2006/04/6.jpg 05- Apply configs to match our template (352x288): http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif 06- Save the AviSynth Script: http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2006/04/7.jpg 07- The script by itself: http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2006/04/8.jpg 08- Launch TMPGENC and LOAD the template: http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif 09- Click on BROWSE and load the .AVS file. Select System (Video + Audio): http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif 10- Click on START and waits. When it finishes, you will get the final result: http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2006/04/9.jpg 11- BURN with nero as VCD. enjoy :D |
wow ima try this right now,! but i dontcare to burn it to vcd, just wanna watch it on pc lol, thaats why wanted in mp4 format, but ima try this way and seee how small it makes the file. ALSO I noticed u used the PAL template. Does that matter/ cause my dvd is in NTSC format, and i heard most usa dvd players dont play PAL?

There is 1 problem! when you tell me to open Paranoia, and press f2. it tells me to locate the video! but, i have it dvdripped. in .vob and .d2v But it only opens avi, mpg, mp4, and wmv files! not .vob or .d2v. so what to do now?

you want something like this: http://www.autogk.me.uk/ But AUTOGK supports only XviD and DivX. for MP4 container and codecs x264 (H264) (also known as AVC) use this: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=90732 http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i...2006/04/10.jpg Quote:

On PC you have access to a lot of formats that will be far smaller than MPEG or Divx (h264, rv10...) but won't be read on an standalone. So please PC or not PC ? |
hey dial! i would liek to to be watchable video on my PC
|
Then you should forget avi and kvcd. The best codec currently is x264 and you won't find anything giving you better quality in a smaller file.
I don't know this "autoAC" application that Sparkster was talking about in his previous post, but if I were you I'd look towards this tool. And for your avi sources, AutoGK will be the one to use (as mentioned by sparskter too). |
where can i download this x264 codec, and what program can i use this codec on for ally my video encodes, like avi , and mpg, and wmv and vob, dvr files? a and even use .avs , cause im using watermark on my .avs file
also with x264 codec whats the extension it will come out as? .mpg? |
The best place to read about x264 is on doom9.org forum. Here we are focusing on MPEG2. You will obtain all the answer you need there.
|
can i get a direct link to it, doom9 is huge
|
Actually I was refering to the only forum section on doom9 that as "x264" in its description. I think the sticky post in top of it can be a good start, and afterwards you will have to ask for the details you need, if either.
