should I Inverse telecine?
 

Wondering how much filesize will be cut down by performing inverse telecine and 3:2 pulldown (compared to leaving fps at 29.97). Will it be considerable amount, like 10%?

Is Flicker prioritized better than motion prioritized?

If the movie is hard telecined, you must IVTC. Don't use TMPGEnc to do that, do that in the script with Telecide and Decimate (in the Decomb dll).

Most of the movies are not hard telecined but pulldowned so you can use Force FILM (or is it honor pulldown flags nowadays?) in DGIndex.

Think about how many frames per an hour of video there is when the framerate is 23.976fps or 29.97fps. The difference is huge.

i used dvd2avi forced film. you are corectamundo. Worked like a charm. I fit all 3 extended lord of the rings on one dvd9 with nice bitrates of over 3000 vbr with the 352x480 template now. tyvm. I wish i could have used ac3 with it but no way would i have been able to fit them on with that. as it was i had to cut credits after the main actors were mentioned and then only had room for 21 seconds of motion menu left over b4 filling the disc to it's max.

MP2 audio at high bitrate (256Kbps) and DS sounds very good too ;)

Or simply use the 2ch AC3 track which is encoded at 192kbps. On the LOTR movies, it's very well mixed and should sound good on a 5.1 system as well.
