Is it necessary to add borders?
As I've seen around, ever ybody uses borders in their avisynth scripts. Personally, I never add borders, becuase of the excessive "dark matter" on the left and right sides of the video. I prefer having borders only above and below the video. So basically my questions are:
1. What do borders exactly accomplish? 2. Will it reduce the file size of the encoded product? 3. Is it absolutely necessary to have them? Some of these questions may seem "dumb" to some people, but I just wanna know! :? Any help is appreciated! :D |
Hello! :D
You are talking about overscan! Take a look on this thread: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....light=overscan and this link http://www.incredible.de.tf/aspectratios.html Generally you will need it on analog TVs; On digital ones you do not need it; And yes it will reduce the final move area a bit. |
Thanks for the links! Incredible's site was incredibly helplful!! :D

There have been a real price war on this model begin of august. From 1999€ the price droped to 1590, then 1390, then 1245 and finally 1195€ ! I bought it "too early" and paid 1245€ :), but I have a wonderfull glass/metal furniture with it that costs 245€ alone. http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/error.gif |
