TMPGenc encoding with AC3 Audio
 

Hey. I'm new to these forums and I have some questions. Maybe I can ask this elsewhere but I find this might be a better place. Ok, there are movies on my computer with audio encoding in either mp3 or AC3. Now, when using TMPGenc to encode movies with mp3 audio encoding, the movie works fine when playing on a dvd player. It's converted into KVCD [btw this also happens with VCD and SVCD].

Now comes the problem. TMPG by default cannot use the AC3 audio so I have to use VirtualDub to encode it into .wav then use the wav file in TMPG and then convert into KVCD. The problem is, after I burn it onto a cd and play it on a dvd player, the audio seems to skip a lot, maybe the video as well. Why is that?

"That" is the poor quality of tmpgenc in the audio area. Do not use tmpgenc for that. Encode the video and the audio in seperate tasks : the video with tmgenc and the audio with besweet or headc3che.

I'm not sure how to use that program besweet. It's a CLI [Command Line Interface] program so not quite sure how to use it. I have a movie that is in .avi and and in AC3 audio. How would I go about it?

If .avi movie on your computer is not a lossless .avi (like that obtained with Huffyuv), I would not recommend you to convert it to anything else.
You'll get really bad quality video, and you may think it's due to KVCD being the cause, when the problem is trying to convert a bad source into KVCD... :roll:

For anything else, there are several GUI for Besweet (besweetGUI, belight...).

You can also download toolame and configure TMPGenc to use an external encoder(toolame) for audio encoding. Then its more automated and you can point to the source file or the wav file and TMPGEnc will use the external encoder to convert the audio without problem.
