How do you convert Pal to NTSC?

Okay, We have 16 German guest at our school. (It's an exchange program b/c Hamm is our sister city) Anyways, their teacher brought a DVD of some video. But of course, problem is is that it's in PAL. I want to make sure I do this right. How do you convert Pal to NTSC? Just lower the res? BTW, which codec would you suggest since I want the best quality. Fortionantly The DVD Player at school is the same as mine so I can test compatibility :D

Thanx,

I think you can rip the dvd and then in FitCD hit the format conversion button and it will change the PAL resolution to ntsc.
