I had a go at the kvcd player today and when I played the divx file, for about two mins I don't see any video.

Bugs creep in :)
I'll take a look. In the mean time, if it happens again, go to "Control/Video Size" and change the resolution. See if when you change it, you can see the display again. I just played a complete 2 hour .avi full screen, and there were no problems.

I have changed the resolutions and still get a blank area where the movie is.

What OS are you using? XP, 98, ME?
Are you using at least DirectX 8 drivers? You should have the latest version installed.
Does every .AVI behave the same way? I can't seem to reproduce your problem here. I'm running Windows XP.

I have Winxp, just tested a couple other avis and they worked fine, must of been that one file perhaps or the way its been encoded. Sorry for the hassle.

Edit:
my mistake, I just tried re-playing a file and its done the same thing again
