problem with TMPGEnc 2.59

Has anyone else noticed a problem trying to use the LBR template and
TMPGEnc-2.59.47.155 ???

I went back to 2.58 and it encodes like it's supposed to...
Then I tried 2.59 again (same settings as I used in 2.58) and the file is always too big...
With 2.58 I can move the Quality up to 30 and fit the movie on 1cd, but with 2.59 it's still too big to fit on 1cd even if I leave the Quality at 22...

Seems you're not loading the KVCD Q. Matrix, and you're using the standard matrix. Check that out. I'm encoding with 2.59 fine.

Hi kwag!
Did you notice any difference from 2.58?

Speedwise, no. Feels the same as 2.58. It does have a high quality downsampling for the audio, but I haven't tried it yet.

still not working

I saved the q matrix so under 2.59 it said kvcd and had the same settings as 2.58, but still not working...
On the previous versions on TMPGEnc I can install to a new folder and then copy the KVCD templates to the template folder and everything works like a charm...
2.59 FREE version and the Plus version seem to disregard the template settings...
I have tried different movies and end up with files that are too big to fit on 1CD...
I am frame serving DivX movies to the encoder...

So for now I will stick with 2.58 until there is a reason to upgrade to a newer TMPGEnc

Have you tried to manually change the GOP settings as in the KVCD templates? Maybe you're using another GOP
Also, check that the "System" tab says "MPEG-1 VideoCD (non-standard).

Yes, I too have had the problem with TMPGEng 259 and the larger file sizes. I checked all of the settings, and the templates to make sure they were the same in TMPGEng 259 as I was using in 257, but the files are much larger in 259.

tmpgenc 2.59

I was able to get TmpgEnc 2.59 to encode at a good size when I changed the stream type to MPEG-1 System (automatic).

Can you burn this type of MPEG to a KVCD or does it have to be a
MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard) ?

You can try it, but I've seen some DVD players choke on that. They seem to like "non-standard" better.

Is that true??

I haven't noticed bigger filesizes with v. 2.59 but it's possible i guess... so you guys go back to 2.58 ?
