VirtualDub: Open video file via Avisynth
I just d/l Virtual Dub Mod and I'm not clear on the differences between open video file and open video file via Avisynth. Since .avs files can be opened with either one, I was wondering what this function adds.
thanks, ren |
Not sure if anyone has answered this for you but if you open vidoe file via avisynth, it creates a basic avisynth script and opens your file via that.
For example, you open an AVI file via avisynth and it creates a dummy AVS file that loads the AVI and then opens the AVS in VDub. You can then edit the AVS script with your filters etc and view the results in VDub. I agree, it seems pointless if you can create the AVS in the first place and open it directly but it may be useful for some people. |
Hey thanks Fiz- I've been wondering about this for over two months now! I didn't see the script editor so that's why this didn't make any sense- but that editor really needs a cut & paste- unless it already has one but I can't find it
