KVCD: Motion search precision settings in tmpgenc?

Have you made any conclusive tests regarding the motion search precision setting with the new GOP and BETA-1 matrix and Blockbuster? I'm interested in hearing if there's any clear difference between high quality and motion estimate search with resolutions 352x576 and below.

In the tests I've made "high quality" always produced a smaller file than "motion estimate search". "Higher quality" always produced a larger file :).

Does that have a direct relation to the quality as you can raise the CQ or CQ_VBR value accordingly?

I noticed no significant visual differences between "motion estimate search" and "high quality" but as you say, the smaller file size means one can increase the CQ/CQ_VBR quality a little.
