Looks like it's giving you the video test to find the best CQ. Look at the TOK log and it should give you the result for the best result. If you want to straight encode then tick the No Prediction (FIX CQ) box and make sure the No Encoding (only prediction) is unticked. Hope this helps. I'm also learning like you are.

Sorry, forgot to add this. Remove the following from your script.
Sampler(length=24) ## MPEG size = ((Total frames/MovieTimeInMinutes)/24) * MPEG sample file size * .98 ## |
ahhh perfect, it works :). thanks for your help, but i have another problem now. this time it is with other videos. what i need help with is converting framerates. so of my avis have framerates of 30fps instead of 29.97, or 23.979 instead of 27.976, an because of this ToK refuses to read them because the do nat "match". is there any tool within MovieStacker that may be able to do this, or will i need a completely new prgram for this? btw sorry if i shouldn't have posted this here.

also in order for my movie to look normal on my widescreen tv, do i need to change any settings, or will it look alright already? my script is posted a few posts back if needed.

Re: Guide to convert Divx to KVCD
I read the guide on making kvcd movies and I got as far as doing the audio part but I dont know what to do with moviestacker. what kinda script do you create with it and how? I created a script just by loading the avi file. I did that by clicking on source and then selecting the file. How do I go from here?

Ok, I don't know alot bout ripping, but recently, my tmpg doesn't want to pick up my .d2v, from DVD2AVI. I don't know if anyone uses it, but if someone does, and could know what my problem is, thanks. The error message reads: 'Error; <filename> is not supported or cannot be opened'.
I've used different versions of tmpg, but none work. If someone could give me a pointer er something, thanks. Another question I have, is also with tmpg. Again, I have tried to use different versions, but when I load any movie, whether it be a .avi or a .mpg, to convert to a better reso. or different filetype, it estimates it to be like 250 mins, and like 1.5 gigs. I know tmpg's estimate is off, but one part, of a 55 min avi, came/comes out like 600 megs, without audio (that was used with a kvcd template). And when you try and play it, it says like 235 mins, when its only like 55 mins. Anyone have any advice on either of these, that'd be great! P.S - You guys seem to know what you're doing, so thats why I'm asking you! Anyways, hard for a 14 year old to figure some of this shit out. |

HI Black Prince,
I've used your guide and am up to the last stage: ready to burn :D . However when I play my movie in the wmp that Tok created when it opened TMPGENC by itself, the sound and pictures are not in sync. Whe sound comes on earlier than the picture. What can I do? Do I need to feed it through TMPGENC again to have it encoded? because according to your guide I was to uncheck no encoding. I assume you meant click encode? anyway here is my script after using TOK AviSource("D:\Incoming\movie.Xvid.avi",false) BlindPP(cpu=4) Blockbuster(method="noise",detail_min=1,detail_max =3,variance=0.1,seed=1) Convolution3D(1, 6, 12, 6, 8, 2.8, 0) GripCrop(352,240,overscan=1, source_anamorphic=false) GripSize(resizer="LanczosResize") Undot() TemporalSoften(2,7,7,3,2) DCTFilter(1,1,1,1,1,1,0.5,0) GripBorders() AssumeFPS(25.000) please give me some suggestion to improve it. Thanks WOWIEGURL  |
Alright, looks like this guide is pretty thorough...
But I got kind of stuck. I've done everything correcty in the guide so far, up until Use MovieStacker. I'm not quite sure exactly what I'm supposed to do with it... Guide seems to kind of leave you hanging there... Oh yeah BTW I'm a totaly newbie if you haven't figured it out. :o LOL Anywho...maybe I'm posting this in the wrong section, or this same question has been answered before, please forgive meh. So..yeah. If someone knows how to help me, or can redirect me to where I can get help, it'll be mucho appreciated. :D .:EDIT:. Well, seems I'm the most stupid person on earth. *shakes head in dissapointment* LOL I found the idiots guide in the parent thread... Maybe I'll go take a look at that one. Thanks anywho people. :D |

I suppose also you are using the optimal script I provided for avi->kvcd convertion, right ? (they are here : http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7223) Then you don't need to use moviestacker : it is used to compute the resize/crop parameters but the script uses "gripcroop/gripresize" for taht and all is automatic. For your first KVCD it will be enought like this. |
WLA Path
Where can I find the WLA path for Tok? I'm trying to convert an divx to kvcd.
Can someone help me out, I'm having problems. |
