Why only NTSC-Film templeate ?
Hi kwag
Pardon me if I missed something, but why don't we have a NTSC 29.97 fps template ? I know, just one click and we have changed the frame rate, but is that all we have to do ? Omega |

kwag,
Excuse me if this question is redundant, but I am using an AverTV stereo tuner card to record shows from my cable feed. Sometimes the signal is very clean, and sometimes not, depending on channel and weather. Anyway, can I use your template at the ~24FPS setting? What filters do you recommend for noisy signals? Any information appreciated. Thanks. TomG. - aka Plant_Guy |

Probably most of your programs captured are telecined to 29.97. Read about IVTC here: http://www.inmatrix.com/articles/ivtc.shtml kwag |
Thanks. How about filters for noisy cable signals? Should I just compress without filters? Someone suggested that I use the sharpen filter in TMPGEnc in reverse, ie with negative numbers. I really do not want that typical "soft" picture you get with VCD's. Again, thanks for the input. :D

Kwag,
I really would like to use VDub, but I have WinXP and an AverTV card which has the WDM drivers, and I cannot get 640x480 or 352x480, or anything other than 352x240. What should I do? I tried downloading the BTxxx drivers from a site that others recommended, and immediately got a BSOD, and the computer would not boot. What should I do? Thanks for your (very fast 8O ) input! Yes, I used btwincap's utility for uninstalling all previous versions of the driver, and then did the install. No luck. On another topic, I enabled the IVTC box as was indicated by your link (thanks), and the output did not look right. Some scenes had interlacing artifacts, and the playback speed of the clip seemed off somehow.
