Someone, please answer this quick question

I'm using the KVCD 90 minute template and I've got a 81 min DVD ripped. The video stream ends up at about 783 mb and the audio at 113 mb. When I mux them together, it ends up at 900+ mb. If I do both audio and video in TMPGEnc, it's about 860 mb.

What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't the template keep the video file size low enought that I can combine it with the audio stream and be under 800 mb ??

Try the new version of TMPEG (2.510) just released.

kwag,

Dude, thanks for the awesome work. Quick ?s.

What's better
A. Doing just video in TMPGEnc and mux audio later.
B. Doing both audio and video in TMPGEnc

Using the templates, should the video always be small enough to add audio later and still get < 800mb ?

You always encode your audio first. Then encode your video. Use file prediction for your video :D

So, the 90 minute template is just a guide and won't always turn out a video stream that once mux'd with the audio that will be < 800 mb ???

I'm may just be starting to catch on here

Just subtract your audio size from 800, and that's your video target
