TMPGEnc: PBC play problems in DVD player

Not sure if this is the right forum but I have a quick question. My stand alone DVD player is a Panasonic RV-32. If I burn a standard VCD, the display on my rv-32 will just say "PBC play" and I'm not able to view any time as to where I'm at in the movie. If I turn off PBC on the player it will then display time but it's always a few remote clicks away. Now I have noticed if I burn with VCDeasy and uncheck PBC control and burn, when I load it up in my player, it will start right away and display the time which is the way I want it. If I burn without PBC, is this still a standard VCD disk? Will it play in other players? I suppose if I get another player down the road and it won't play without PBC I could just reburn them. Any thoughts?
Tim

This is a bit of a late reply but I don't think PBC is required for VCDs to be standard compliant, so it should be fine in other players.
