Cannot keep aspect ratio of dvd rip?

Hi all

I cannot for the life of me understand what is the problem here!!

I ripped a dvd. Opened tmpegenc selected source aspect ratio as 16:9 as is the orignal and when i view preview it looks fine but when its been encoded and played back on my 28" widescreen all the aspect ratio is wrong the sides are cut down!! :cry:

its really pissing me off as you can imagine!! heh

Please help!

you sure its not overscan?
