KVCD: Add multiple mpegs to one 120-minute kvcd?
Hi I have a tv series that I want to cram on as fewer cds as possible. 12 episodes, all files are in .mpg format and 413mb in size. 352 x 240 @ 29.97fps ~42 minutes in length.
How do I go about making this into one kvcd? will I need to join them all? all the guides seem to be from avi or dvd to kvcd. How many would I get on a kvcd? as the prediction calculators are for avi and only one file. Any help would be appreciated :) |

hi kwag.
They are MPEG-1. I am unsure as to wether they are interlaced or not. How can i find this out? I looked in the details under powerdvd but it doesnt mention it. Thanks for the help |

http://www.100fps.com/ Then you can use TMPEG by loading your MPEG-1 files and checking against this information :wink: -kwag |
ok my files arent interlaced. Is there a prediction calculator that can work out at what quality i should encode them?
|
i would also like either a guide or predictor to convert mpeg1 streams into
kvcd. i have many vcd's that i would like to convert to kvcd. i have managed to do this with svcd using the guide on this forum, but dvd2avi doesnt like mpeg1 streams so i cant create a *.d2v file. the only way i found was manually adjusting the bitrate to fit the cd is there a better way ? |
@powie,
You can open your MPEG-1s with Vdub and frameserve to TMPEG :idea: Or better, you can open your MPEG-1 with a line: DirectShowSource("C:\MyMPEG-1.mpg") in a .avs script :idea: -kwag |
MPEG specs..
slyp,
* Did you D/L them ?? * Are you sure they ARE mpg format ?? I mean, these sound like divX files. If you open them in vdub, go to file/Information and see the the decompressor says, ie, DIVX Also, let us know what the specs are ie: * resolution * audio * frame rate - see "fps" after resolution This will help us help you better, cuase your next question will probably be HOW to improve upon the quality. Let us know what you specs are of these clips. -vhelp |
yes i did d/l them, yes they are mpg format. What I want to do is encode TV series Buffy the vampire Slayer, 24 Series 2 and John Doe to as few CDs as possible while retaining as much quality as possible.
File sizes are 352 x 240 @ 29.97fps ~42 minutes in length. Audio is 224kb. I have now managed to get a more efficient method of predicting filesize for mpg but its still just a matter of fiddling with CQ values. I have been told there is a dll file to make mpeg-1 into d2v files which can then be put into the kvd predictor so....I will try that next. |
