I agree about the speed. The have done a very good job. They just need to iron out some of the small faults. I also agree about the "movie only". That's what I want, and I don't really care too much about the menus and extras :D

Looks like you impressed DVD2one with your test of compressing

At least the authors of DVD2One recognise that a valid point has been raised. Its a shame most of their users like to make do and not try and push the software to the limits and beyond. That explains why none of them are on this forum :D

DVD2One is undoubtably a fantastic concept that will be pushed further in the future. I was amazed however by Kwags findings that the quality decreases more during the film. This is the only reason why it is so fast and as soon as they put multipass encodng in etc, there will not be much speed advantage over Tmpeg or CCE (give or take a few hours).

The problem is, after using DVD2One i've found it no fun. I love putting 6 hours of tv capture on one DVD and i like putting at least 2, sometimes 3 film backups on a dvd. I love using the great new filters (Dust etc) that are constantly being developed by some very clever hobyists. I also think that K(VC)(DV)D is awesome and i don't care if my encode takes 3-4 hours, the results are always superb and i enjoy the process. Programmes like TOK are great and simplify the time taken to encode anyhow.

My £2 anyway!
