I think STMedianFilter has to be included. It's a very good and faster alternative to C3D... Also Unfilter should be in it. Forget about the SmoothHiQ though :oops:

I'm benchmarking unfilter right now. I'll try STM afterwards :wink:.

Grat work on 2.0 BETA!

Since we get new filters added/changed all the time, maybe if you could include several "Custom" filter checkboxes which will open a link prompt to the filter .dll, and the "Custom" will be automagically renamed same as the filter .dll?? This will save some updating on your part....

will learn C++, will learn C++, will learn C++ .... someday :)

Great idea bolibo!
I will think about it... :wink:

Would it be possible to add an option so that the overlap feature only letterboxes the sides and not the top?

Nice Work!

That's exactly what "Overlap" does. It "Trims" pixels on each side, but not on the top or bottom.

Hi kwag and Smoochie3,

MovieStacker Letterbox actually trims on the sides and on top/bottom.
I did this because if you are dealing with a fullscreen source you want to trim the top and bottom too. And if you are dealing with widescreen source the top and bottom has already black bars, so it wouldn’t make difference if you trim the top/bottom too.

Well... the last affirmation is not always right. :oops:
If you want your destination to be anamorphic then you will not have top/bottom black borders, and the letterbox will actually trim movie pixels that you don't want to trim. :x :twisted:

To fix this I will make Letterbox trims top/bottom only if your source is fullscreen.
If you source is anamorphic it will trim just left and right.
Is that good enough Smoochie3 :?:

REWIND: That's NOT exactly what "Overlap" does. :oops:

muaddib, :stickouttongue: That's what I thought Overlap did :P
Now, I'll take mysef to a little corner and sit with :imstupid: for a little while :grrr:
I guess I had too many beers last night celebrating your new release of MovieStacker :mrgreen:

Hey kwag, that's exactly what the letterbox option should do from the beginning! 8O
I just forgot about the anamorphic destination. :oops:
I guess that's me who needs to take myself to a little corner and sit with :imstupid: for a little while :grrr:

BUT I WILL TAKE SOME BEERS WITH ME! :drink: :drink: :drink:
Anybody wants to join me? :drunkard: :mrgreen: :drunkard:

jorel 04-25-2003 11:07 PM

yeah,thanks!

i'm the "boy" on the right!

:drunkard:

jorel 04-25-2003 11:24 PM

another one:

:idea:

will be fantastic use
"frame selections" with "preview"(with sound if possible) ...
and we can adjust "trim" and "fade"
:!:
the best way to make transitions and/or choose sizes with fade!

"feel":
the end of cd1 in perfect transition
with the begining of cd2.....right? :wink: :!:

:wink:

@muaddib:

Sounds good!

J-Wo 04-26-2003 11:17 PM

okay so this whole overlap thing reminds me to ask the question, what's the big dif between Resize and Overlap? Was reading some older messages who say to use Overlap, and moviestacker then adds the Letterbox line... Is this supposed to be "better"? I don't seem to notice a big difference on my 25" TV either way, but was just wondering! Thanks.

Hi J-Wo,

Please, read this thread http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3767
You will find the answer there... :D

Suggestion

@Mauddib:
The ß3 looks GREAT!
1. Instead of putting in the suggested filters that everyone suggests, only to find out that in 2 weeks time a better filter comes along, can you ad an extra tab that will let the USER specify the filters that they want to use and include a check box next to the USER entered filter along with any default/best settings available. This way you can concentrate on other issues/suggestions with MovieStacker and let everyone use the filters that they want to. Me personally, I'd like to see Decomb included as I can't get it to work at all when I attempt to include it manually (Using the pre ß release - I'll try it again with the ß release).
2. Did I read correctly that all I have to do is to specify in Moviestacker where my filters are and then all I have to do in the script is to add the filter name, not including the full path? (If It isn't so, could you consider this)

@kwag
Thanks for including Seeing that the "Best" script changes regularly, can you include a downloadable "KVCD Preset Of The Day" so people don't get typo's or errors when they cut and past (I remember reading that some people had C&P problems with ' and `). This way the novice such as myself can also benefit easily from the Best/ß preset of the day?

andybno1 05-29-2003 05:17 PM

I know its just as easy to add this in seperately but how about adding in a tick box for adding ConvertToYUY2() into the script when a avi file is processed through moviestacker.

That's a good idea.
To be honest, that was my first plan when I started to code MovieStacker, but this way you will not have the "filter settings dialog" for the filter.
We will have to have a "fixed" manual setting for the filter.
To make this work we will have to have 3 information:
1- Name of the filter (this will appear next to the check box)
2- Name of the DLL the filter is in.
3- Settings of the filter (the line that will be added to the script)

I'm not sure if this is the best solution for this problem.
I would like to hear other opinions about it...

About Decomb, MovieStacker supports all three filters in it (FieldDeinterlace, Telecide and Decimate) since version1.0

All you have to do is to check the checkboxes of the filters. MovieStacker will add it to the script with the correct path.

Hi andybno1,

I never do AVIs, and I didn't know we need ConvertToYUY2() for it work. :roll:
Do we need it with all kinds of AVIs?
