TMPGEnc: Sound Hiss won't go away

hi everyone..
my problem is with demultiplexing audio from an MPEG2 file i have. when i did it with TMPGEnc, the resulting audio file had a high pitched and very noticable hiss in it. i even tried saving the original MPEG2 file in DVD2AVI as a project, the resulting .MPA file had the same hiss as well. i know it's not my speakers or anything cause i sent the file to a friend and he heard the exact same hiss i did. the audio file is silent, then the hiss begins as soon as the opening music starts. i'm really clueless now on what to do  . if someone could help me with this it would be appreciated. thanks.

Use the noise reduction plugin in CoolEdit to *KILL* the noise, then encode it to mp2 with a good quality encoder like toolame or mp2enc.
