DVD2SVCD: How do I put Encoded svcd files on DVD-R?
I have some home movies that were put onto DVDR. The problem is that each DVD is only an hour and a half long. I want to double the amount of video on each DVDR, and converted them into SVCD. Here is where the problem lies: How do I put SVCD files onto DVDR and make it compliant in standalone dvd players? If anyone could give me a link or some tips it would save me a lot of headache. I've already posted in the doom9 site and no one responded. 8O My only hope now lies here...

Hi Bodyguard,
You can try to use a program called DVDPatcher, which modifies the mpeg headers on your SVCD mpeg files, and then you can try burning them on a DVD. You will still have to demux your audio and video streams, and re-encode the audio at 48Khz so that it is DVD compliant. Then remux both streams together again. You can use TMPEG to demux, and BBMpeg to remux. Then use a DVD authoring program like DVDit or DVD Workshop to author and burn your files. Search google for DVDPatcher. You'll find the site there. -kwag |
Hi Bodygaurd,
I came across this method a while ago, you may want to give it a try Code:
Converting SVCD to DVD-R with IFOEDIT 0.95 With this method you will need to join your mpeg files if you have more than one. |
Hey thanks urban tec :D
That's easier than the way I had been doing it  -kwag |

The simplest is to use the freeware SVCD2DVDMPG from _http://www.svcd2dvdmpg.com/SVCD2DVDMPG/?
If you author them in Maestro then you dont have to initially join the svcd files together. In Meastro just load them each into a separate Timeline and link the action of the last chapter of one file to the start of the first chapter on the next file. |
