KVCD: 773 mb movie doesn't fit on disc?

I just finished 'The Pledge' using KVCDx3, and after multiplexing and joining both halves of the movie, I have a total mpeg file size of 773 megs. More than reasonable to put on a single disc, right?? Wrong!! Nero gives me a total size of way over the threshold for mode 2...

I muxed using BBmpeg, as VCD/VBR using Kwag's recommended settings. How could this have happened??

Hi Reno,

Try VCDEasy.

Nero is automatically converting the video to a VCD compliant video. You can disable this is Nero burning rom but I am not sure in demo of Nero Express.

Neither of these ideas worked, guys...

Hi Reno.
If your file is a 775 megs MPG file (both audio&video, i say it's ready to burn) you can add it in VCDEasy, choose to make a videocd.bin file, and then burn this image file with NERO :) . I make this all the time with almost 810 megs mpg files, for real :!: 8)

Tried it, ended up with 851 meg size. Not meant to be, I guess..

Check this thread:

I think that you need to uncheck the option "Perform some MPEG compliance checks" at the main window. You need to do this BEFORE add some file.
Also check the settings of BBMpeg: You need to select 2324 bytes at Size of PACK options for 1 Pack.

Let me know if it's right 8)

Problem solved!
I muxed a two-part downloaded movie in it's seperate halves. THEN my dumb self merged the two streams  It was padded twice!!

Thanks for your help anyway, guys...

Should have elaborated more, sorry :?
