KVCD: Clone Wars type digital video makes kvcd easier?

Does anyone agree with me that all movies should be recorded in digital video? I saw some samples of other documentary movies that were recorded with top of the line digital video cameras, and I just can't believe the quality. It is like you are right there next to the person. The same goes for Clone Wars, I was amazed at how good the quality was. With quality that good we could probably near double the compression we are getting now and still get DVD quality looking video.

Only if the camera used is a high end progressive (24fps) digital camera, and I still have my doubts
Still, digital cameras can't capture the fidelity and color saturation that a 35mm film provides. Sure you'll have the small visible grain in film, but the colors in Film are better. Read here: http://visualeffects.net/effectsguid...lmvsvideo.html

There's a company in the city I live in who are developing extremely hi-res digital "film" cameras. I believe Lucas used something like a 2-megapixel camera, while these guys are working on an 8-megapixel version.

That should come a lot closer to real film quality.

Now that should REALLY increase the quality :!: , but I wonder about the color saturation/fidelity captured on those CCDs being used, compared to actual FILM material. Anyway, I guess the FILM days are close to it's end. In less that 5 years from now, I believe all movies will be shot digital. It's just a matter of (not too long) time :)

Well, I know a couple of professional still photographers who won't use anything other than digital cameras now. Mind you, their cameras cost about US$15,000 a pop ;).

Too much, too much. I'll do fine with my ~$700.00 FujiFilm S602 6MP camera. I can't complain

These cameras were real nice, though... SLR, took standard lenses, and could be attached to a cellphone for picture uploading. Very cool :).
