KVCD: 670x272 with kvcd2 two-disc template?
help!
i downloaded a movie from edonkey with 670x272 and tried to encode w/ tmpgenc using kvcd2 (cd2) template, i did change the min bitrate to 500 and cq: 80 when i played it back on my dvd player (daewoo 5800) it doesnt play it correctly...flickers on the top half of my tv screen. what am i doing wrong? |
it may be that you encoded it with the wrong resolution. Encode a couple of minutes with KWAG's template and try inputting one of the regular pal or ntsc resolutions ie, 352x288(PAL) 352x240(NTSC) burn the result to disc and try it. the do the same for the KWAG templates at 352x576 and 352x480 and try it on a disc again. Hope this helps.

someone on vcd said i have illegal pixels...670x272 (not not dvd players)
how do i convet to 352x480? |
ok when i select the file and go properties this is what i see...
Image Width: 640 Height:272 Audio Duration:0:51:18 Bit Rate: 181kps Audio format:mpeg-layer 3 Video frame rate: 23 frames/sec data rate: 100 kbps video sample size: 24 bit video compression:divxmpg4 v3 can anyone help? |
Use FitCD to tell you the appropriate crop and resize parameters. I've converted a 640x272 movie before to fit the kvcd2 template, and it worked fine. I believe the final numbers were something like: crop to 612x272, then resize to 704x272, then encode at 704x480 (kwag's template). This isn't ideal, because A. You are hacking out pixels and B. you are resizing 'up'. You must must must use at least Bicubic if not Bicubic Precise... bilinear will do a terrible job. However, this is if you want to go 704x480 (which I suggest you try, since it sounds as if your player may not handle 352x480).
You can also try converting to 352x240 (which is more standard?), since the movie is already x272. |
yep, it looks like the rez is wrong, you could use fitcd to make the correct calculations and have it generate an AVIsynth script. Or just resize it in TMPEG by going to the settings tab and in the video section use one of the regular template sizes or just type in the resolution size for one of KWAG's templates.
Then click the advanced tab, and in the video arrange window use full screen keep aspect ratio 2. Give it a go with a couple a minutes worth of encoding and burn the results to a cd and see if your DVD player will play it. Good luck |
fitcd can i get instructions how to use? sorry im a total newbie at this.
I could re-size it...not too sure what size i should use? should i try 640x480? or 612x272 or 352x240? I could just use kvcd2 (ntsc) template and change to either 640x480,612x272,352x240 then change CQ: 80 , min bitrate to 500? Thanks |

Those options are in FitCD. Not in TMPEG. -kwag |
Huh? Are you saying I should use the generated script with TMPGenc to set that option? Interesting. 8O

Where do I unzip the avisynth?
When unzipped, I guess I need to click on the register icon :?: :?: |
