28 Mb when supposed to be 650+??

Hey,

I have a problem with BBMPEG that i have never come across before,

the output file is only about 28.5 MB when it is supposed to be 650+ MB

after encoding?? something must have gone wrong, I load up all my

MP2, MPEG 1, output select, followed directions on the mark in Red-M's

Guide but, somethings wrong and I dont know what it is :(

HELP 8O
thanx :)

Are you certain that you're using the Recommended BBMpeg Settings as shown in this thread: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2224 ? Also make sure that you're selecting the correct .m1v (video file created by TMPG) and .mp2 audio file (created by Headac3he) for muxing, and not accidentally selecting one of your short Sampler encodes created during File-Size Prediction. Other than that, I don't know why it wouldn't be working for you...very rarely you may come across a problem file that just doesn't want to mux properly with BBMpeg, but I doubt this is the case. Do you have enough free space on your hard-drive for the muxed output file?

As a last resort, if BBMpeg just doesn't want to mux this file properly for you, and you're sure that you're doing everything right, then you might want to give TMPG's muxer a try. It's under File -> MPEG Tools. In the Simple-Multiplex Tab, choose MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard). Then select your video and audio inputs, and mux. BBMpeg is regarded as a better muxer than TMPG and produces more player-compliant files than TMPG...this is why it's best to use BBMpeg (in addition to the fact that you can mux from an exact Start and End point with it).

Good luck,

hey Dazed&Confused, thanx, but my computer is doing the same thing,

it takes about 20 seconds to encode and mux the 101MB MP2 and the

around 580 MB m1v file, and comes out around 28.5 MB..hmm, I'll try

TMPGEnc's muxing and see if i can do any better!

appreciate it :)

man, crap, it says now it is an illegal MPEG audiostream?? whats that

about? I am using MP2... :?

what now?

Hi AmericanKickboxer,

Make sure you have set the start seconds in BBMpeg to 0, end seconds to 999999 and max size to 9999.
Now try it again :)

What version of TMPEG did you use? You didn't use 2.59 by chance, which has bugs? Seems you encoded that movie incorrectly, and not as a Non-standard MPEG-1 :!:

Hmmm...

seems your right man, i guess you cant have the right output file

if the input is useless... feeling real dumb, ill just start over 8O wow

thanx alot :!: :D
