KVCD: necessary to download a codec from somehere?

Hi

I found this site and I thought this is it!

I browsed through some of the manuals listed and gave it a shot.

I tried converting it with TMPGenc 2.59. I tried convcerting an MPEG directly to kvcd without separating the video and the audio stream first using the template but wound up with a file over 1 Gb...

Was I thinking too simple or is it necessary to download a codec from somehere?
